Tree Top Hospital (TTH) has successfully completed 4 Thyroidectomy surgeries towards the treatment of Thyroid Cancer. These surgeries have been performed by TTH’s skilled team of ENT surgeons; Dr. Chandrashekhar Rawal and Dr. Rajesh Valand.

Thyroidectomy can be defined as the surgical removal of the thyroid gland and is the most common form of surgical treatment for thyroid cancer

The surgery carried out based on evidence based methodologies and a thorough examination of the patient. This involves an ultrasound guide Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) which is utilized for accurate diagnosis. Ultrasound guided FNAC is a diagnostic procedure that involves inserting a small needle into a potentially malignant mass to extract cells, which are then examined under a microscope. It is used to obtain a clear image of soft tissues that do not show up well on x-rays.

To avoid damaging vital structures such as the recurrent laryngeal nerve, which is required for voice and breathing, our medical team uses a nerve stimulating technology which aids the surgeon in preventing any potential injuries.
