The
mission of Tree Top Hospital (TTH) is centered on providing world-class
healthcare right here in the Maldives, leveraging advanced technology to ensure
clinical excellence. While our doctors and nurses are the face of patient care,
it is the sophisticated digital infrastructure behind them that ensures every
life-saving diagnosis, critical procedure, and piece of patient data is managed
seamlessly.
In
this special feature, as part of our "Beyond Medicine" series, we
shine a spotlight on the dynamic leadership of the two women who are managing
and modernizing the entirety of our Information and Communications Technology
(ICT) department: Fathimath Mohamed and Aishath Samha. Their combined expertise
is the digital engine driving the TTH mission forward.
Fathimath
Mohamed, IT Operations Manager, is the guardian of TTH’s digital resilience.
Her domain encompasses Infrastructure (Infra), daily Operations (Ops), and
Development (Dev). In healthcare, system reliability is non-negotiable, it
directly translates into patient safety and continuity of care.
Core
Impact:
- Fathimath’s team ensures the stability
of all hardware, servers, and networks. This includes the high-speed
backbone that supports critical care units, from the advanced monitoring
systems in the NICU and ICU to the complex diagnostic equipment in the
Catheterization Lab.
- Fathimath’s focus on Ops guarantees
the hospital's digital systems are always available and performing
optimally, meaning clinicians can access Electronic Health Records (EHR)
and critical information instantly, without delay.
- Fathimath oversees the security
protocols that protect sensitive patient data, ensuring TTH maintains compliance
and the utmost confidentiality in an increasingly complex cyber landscape.
Fathimath
ensures that the cutting-edge medical equipment we invest in is always
supported by an equally advanced and robust technical environment, making our
commitment to high-quality care a functional reality.
Aishath
Samha, ICT Applications Manager, manages the crucial software layer that
directly impacts patient care, clinician efficiency, and the overall patient
experience. Her focus is on transforming technology into intuitive, high-impact
clinical and administrative tools.
Core
Impact:
- Samha is responsible for the
successful deployment and maintenance of our core software, including the
Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This system is the central nervous system
of the hospital, enabling doctors and nurses to manage admissions, access
medical history, order tests, and track treatments instantly and
accurately.
- By managing the application lifecycle,
Samha works closely with clinical staff to ensure digital tools are
efficient and user-friendly, reducing administrative burden and allowing
staff to focus more time on patient care.
- She oversees the applications that
connect the hospital to the patient, such as digital portals for
appointments, lab results, and communication, making the TTH experience
seamless and convenient.
Samha’s
work ensures that every piece of data and every digital interaction enhances
the quality of care and aligns with TTH's mission to provide specialized,
world-class service.
The
Future is Digital and Led by Women
Fathimath
and Aishath together represent the complete digital picture of the hospital,
from the physical cables and hardware to the patient interface and clinical
software. Their strategic partnership is vital to ensuring that our technology
infrastructure and our clinical applications evolve in lockstep with the latest
healthcare advancements.
By
stepping up to lead the ICT department, these two managers are not only the key
architects of Tree Top Hospital's digital success but also powerful role
models, demonstrating that technical expertise, strategic vision, and
leadership in technology are fundamental to delivering the highest quality
healthcare. Their work ensures that every patient at TTH benefits from a truly
