Continuing Medical Education session in commemoration of Immunization Week, highlighting

The session featured Dr. Ahmed
Faisal, Senior Consultant Pediatrician from the Health Protection Agency, who
delivered an insightful presentation on the importance of immunization. Dr.
Faisal emphasized the vital role vaccines play in preventing life-threatening
diseases across all age groups, while also underlining the need to maintain
high immunization coverage to support herd immunity.
He also addressed key public health
priorities, including vaccine hesitancy, the importance of awareness and
trust-building, the evolving landscape of immunization programs, and the need
for continued collaboration between healthcare providers and public health
authorities to improve outreach and compliance.
The session also featured Dr.
Alessandra Martino, Consultant Pediatrician at Tree Top Hospital, who spoke on
the importance of timely childhood vaccinations, parental awareness, and the
responsibility of healthcare professionals in guiding families through safe and
effective immunization practices.
