Dr. Antony Robert Charles

Dr. Antony Robert Charles is a Pediatric Surgeon and Pediatric Urologist with a focus on Pediatric and Neonatal care, including emergency Pediatric Trauma. His key interests lie in Neonatal Surgery and Pediatric Urology.

He received advanced Pediatric Surgery training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and later served as Associate Professor at St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru.

He then completed a Fellowship in Laparoscopy and Urology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney, Australia, gaining expertise in Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic procedures in children.

Dr. Antony’s dedication to pediatric care has earned him multiple accolades, including the Lorimer Dodd Excellence in Surgical Teaching Award from the University of Sydney for two consecutive years. He also led a medical relief team in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands post-Tsunami.

He is actively engaged in ethical issues concerning prenatal and long-term pediatric care and child rights. Based in Bengaluru, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and contributed chapters to Pediatric Surgery (edited by Dr. DK Gupta) and a textbook of Pediatric Nephrology.
