About Dr. Mohamed Shifan

Dr. Mohamed Shifan earned his Master’s Degree in General Surgery from Tribhuvan University Nepal where he also won the prestigious award for ‘Best All-Around Resident Doctor’ which is an annual award selected amongst all the specialties at the Postgraduate Medical Center. He served as a Medical Officer, Senior Registrar, Consultant, and Acting Head of the Department at Indira Gandi Memorial Hospital. Dr. Shifan is currently serving as the Head of the Department of Surgery at IGMH. He also started the Oncology Division in IGMH in 2018 and is the co-founder of the Maldives Association of Surgeons (MAS).

Fellowship of Minimal Access Surgery, Fellow of Surgical Oncology.

M.S – General Surgery, Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University, Nepal.

Diploma in Diving Medicine, Bandos Island Resort, Maldives
