health in the community. The Cataract Campaign will run from 7th to
13th September 2025, offering free consultations for individuals aged 45
and above who are experiencing vision concerns potentially related to
cataracts.
This campaign provides complimentary
specialist consultations for a comprehensive cataract assessment. This
initiative will waive all co-pay charges for the consultation after the
processing of Aasandha and any applicable third-party insurance, making this
essential service more accessible.
Campaign Features:
- Free Consultations: Individuals aged 45 and above will
receive a free consultation between 2:00 PM and 5:30 PM daily
during the campaign week.
- Comprehensive
Waiver: The waiver
covers the entire out-of-pocket consultation cost for all participants,
including Maldivian citizens, expatriates, and tourists.
- Registration
Process: Priority will
be given to those who pre-register. A Google Form will be made available
for registration before the campaign launch.
- Walk-in
Policy: While
pre-registration is strongly advised, walk-in appointments will be
accommodated based on availability for those within the target age group.
The waiver applies specifically to
consultation fees for cataract assessment. Charges for any procedures,
additional examinations, or investigations remain applicable as per standard
hospital practice.
